Ik werkte mee aan de campagne Youth Voice in the EU: Working together to tackle climate change, onderdeel van Make the Link- Climate exChange , een door de Europese Unie gefinancierd programma om de aandacht op klimaatverandering te vestigen, door er over te leren en te discussiëren.

De uiteindelijke bedoeling is om actie te ondernemen tegen de klimaatverandering in Europa en Afrika. Dit programma laat zien dat jonge mensen behalve geïnteresseerd zijn in klimaat...

‘Naar Brussel met Carmen’ het stond al een aantal weken in mijn agenda en dinsdag 6 november was het dan echt zover. Door Plan Nederland ben ik uitgenodigd om mee te gaan naar Brussel. Dit hebben ze gedaan vanwege de Rio+20 conferentie in Rotterdam waar een jongerenconferentie een onderdeel van was. Daar heb ik gevraagd aan straatsecretaris Knapen of hij meer aandacht wilde schenken aan duurzaamheid in het onderwijs. Dit heeft Plan Nederland onthouden en ongeveer een maand geleden...

Dit werd ook internationaal gewaardeerd en leverde een 2e prijs op in de eco-competitie tussen Bulgarije, Malawi, Kenia, Senegal, Nederland en het Verenigd Koninkrijk!
Vorig jaar nog in de top 3 van de eco-competitie. Maar stoppen deden we echt niet!! we gingen door, en dat werdt beloont!! Eerst haalden we 17.000 euro op bij de gemeente voor de aanleg van het buitenlokaal. Daktuinchicks worden tweede in internationale eco-competitie!

Kennen jullie ze nog? De Daktuinchicks? Ze deden vorig jaar mee met de eco-competitie. Maar daarna stopten ze niet met hun project. Sterker nog, ze haalden onder andere nog 17.000 Euro op bij de gemeente voor de aanleg van een buitenlokaal. Daarnaast hebben ze ervoor gezorgd dat er ook dit jaar een groepje actief met de ontdektuin bezig is en is het onderhoud voor de komende 5 jaar veiliggesteld (leerlingen van de opleiding Groen van Campus Winschoten zullen dit doen).

De jongens van Campus Winschoten die met hun 'mobiele fietsoplader' de finale van de eco-competitie. De jongens bedachten een oplader voor je mobiele telefoon. Op het moment dat je gaat fietsen, wordt je mobieltje opgeladen; met echt groene stroom dus! Goed voor je gezondheid EN, zoals de jongens zelf zeggen, je kunt nog handsfree bellen ook!
