Abdul attended our first residential in March 2011 with his classmates

Birmingham-based student, Abdul Jalil of Blue River Academy in Greet, was presented with Student of the Year Award for the West Midlands at the Sky Sports Living for Sport Awards 2011.

Abdul joined 11 other regional finalists from across the UK at a glittering awards ceremony held at Wembley Stadium, where Olympic sprint legend and Sky Sports Living for Sport Ambassador Darren Campbell presented his award.

Abdul stood out as a winner because his story clearly demonstrated how sport can help young people to overcome challenges and develop vital life skills for the future.
