Get started with your climate change campaigning!!
Have you been exploring climate change in your classroom with the Learning Resources and are ready to take action to raise awareness?
Read below for more information on how to apply for a grant to run your very own school-wide activity or campaign!
There are two types of grants the project is offering to participating schools. Schools are eligible to win both grants.

Some ideas include:

Running a poster campaign on climate change issues

Creating improvised drama or art displays

Interviewing school decision-makers or local authorities
Project staff are here to support you with your application so if you need help developing your ideas please contact us. We can also help you to promote your activity in the media, the local community and to MPs / MEP's.
Small grants worth €100/£80*

To apply for this grant click on your country to access the correct form – UK, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Kenya, Malawi, Senegal.

Winners are selected at the end of each month, running from January – July. A selection committee will review all applications submitted each month and select the winners.

If you submit the form before the 20th of the month you will be contacted that same month, otherwise you will go into the following month's selection process.

A total of 148 grants will be awarded to schools and youth groups across the six countries.

Your activity will be shared with thousands of other young people around the world when you upload it to the project website. Your activity might even be selected to be profiled on the home page!

Your class will be entered in an international competition and could win €200/ £160* towards making your school environmentally friendly!

Each class is eligible to win one award from this category.
Even if you win a small grant and want to continue your school's advocacy why not consider applying for the active citizenship grant?
Active citizenship grants worth €300/£250*

Schools can apply for this grant from January – April. The winners will be selected by a committee and will be announced in early May.

A total of 54 grants will be awarded to schools and youth groups across the six countries.

If selected, each school will nominate one teacher and up to five students to attend a weekend to learn skills on how to campaign and start developing your own climate change campaign.

Educators will receive a campaign facilitators guide that will have tips on how to support young people in developing campaigns.

After the residential your group will receive ongoing support to develop your own campaign to be launched before the end of July.

You will receive support from the project staff to get your campaign launched, attract media coverage and share your campaign with other young people across the globe!
Remember your school is eligible for both types of grants if you are keen to demonstrate to your peers around the world and to your community how you are taking action to raise awareness on climate change!
Don't forget to get online and keep us up to date with your activities, you can upload photos and even write a blog about your progress!
